How it works

The method, and the sources behind it

  1. Describe the site you need

Practice areas, attorneys, offices and must-haves. We work out how many pages that really is, and which must-haves each option covers or leaves to you.

  2. Compare four ways to build it

A DIY builder, a done-for-you builder plan, a custom agency build and Lawzen, each as a first-year cost on one scale.

  3. Prices you can check

Builder prices come from their published plans; agency ranges from an agency’s own 2025 guidance; Lawzen’s from our pricing page. Each row names its source.

  4. A plain recommendation

If a simple referral site is enough, we say so. If you need a big custom build, we say that too.

Disclosures

  • About this tool. Third-party prices come from each vendor’s public pages, read in November 2026, and change often: check them before you budget. The agency ranges are one agency’s published guidance, not a market survey. Lawzen’s own plans are included in the comparison, and we sell them.
  • Your data. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Lawzen or anyone else; anything saved stays on this device. See our privacy policy.
  • Not legal advice. Lawzen is a marketing agency, not a law firm. Nothing on this page is legal, ethics, tax or financial advice, and using this tool doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship.
  • Who made it. This free tool is made by Lawzen, which sells marketing services to law firms. Where it mentions our services or prices, it’s describing what we sell. Results are provided as-is, without warranty; see our terms.
  • Trademarks. Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Avvo, Justia and other names mentioned belong to their owners. Lawzen isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Questions, answered

About the Law Firm Website Cost Calculator.

How much does a law firm website cost?

Anywhere from about $20 a month on a DIY builder to $50,000 or more for a complex custom build. A site meant to win new clients from search usually needs a page per practice area, attorney bios and fast mobile pages, which moves it beyond a basic builder.

Why is the first-year cost the number to compare?

Because vendors quote it differently: some charge a big build fee and little after, others a small setup and a monthly fee. Build or setup plus twelve months of running cost puts them side by side.

Are the agency prices market data?

No. We couldn’t find a neutral survey of law firm website prices. The agency ranges are one agency’s own published 2025 guidance, so use them as a sanity check for the quotes you get.

What does Lawzen include?

Design, copywriting, practice-area and attorney pages, lead forms, three blog posts a month, basic SEO setup, hosting, security, support and an hour of changes each month. Sites launch in 2–3 weeks. Every plan and price is on our pricing page.
